Artist Marva Harms’ Pond Series this month at the MacRosite Art Center.

Harms was also the judge for the 25th Annual Juried Exhibition also on display.

Open Pottery. Instructor: Bruce Bartos, $15 each/ $10 student. Join area potters and students of all skill levels in this informal, on-going weekly class. The instructor will be on hand to give one-on-one guidance and tips about techniques, glazes, and firings. Call by noon on Tuesday to register for that day’s session 218-326-2697. Independent Film Series. Sea Fog. Kang, a long time captain of the Junjin, is disheartened to learn that his ship has been sold by its owner, leaving Kang’s entire crew in danger of losing their livelihood. Swallowing his pride, Kang pays a visit to Yeo, a human trafficking broker, and decides to take on the dangerous job of smuggling illegal migrants into South Korea. When the Junjin arrives at the pickup point, a violent storm forces the boat to stall in the open waters, inevitably pitting Kang’s crew against the migrants. As tension and unrest spread throughout the Junjin, a dense sea fog envelops the boat, and tragedy unfolds in the mysterious depths of the fog.Directed by Sung-bo Shim. 6:30 -10 pm

Open figure drawing. This group meets weekly to draw from a live model. No instruction is provided and participants must provide their own materials. Poses usually range from 15 minute to 30 minutes. Serious artists of all levels are welcome to join this group.
