Join Sam Miltich for a workshop for adult string musicians that will develop jazz and improvisation technique for the violin, viola, cello, bass or guitar musician ranging in experience from beginner to advanced. Students will learn tools of design and color mixing in watercolor painting in this class that emphasizes fun and experimentation. The course will be appropriate for all levels — from beginner to experienced watercolor painter. A materials list will be provided by the instructor, and beginner supply kits are available for rental from MacRostie Art Center.

Reif Performing Arts Center, 720 NW Conifer Dr, Grand Rapids, MNJohn Mark Nelson is a songwriter & producer living and working in Saint Paul, Minnesota. At a young age, he received national attention for his self-produced, folk-pop works, Still Here (2011) and Waiting and Waiting (2012), which were followed by extensive national and international touring. In recent years, Nelson has can continued to generate a high volume of recorded works – Sings The Moon (2014), I’m Not Afraid (2015), and Four Days Away (2017) – as well as producing for singer-songwriters like Kara Laudon and Sara Groves.
