Mac Open Studio. Free to MAC members or $5/session for non-members, this informal group is open to artists of all skill levels working in any 2-dimensional medium. Bring your latest project and create your art in a supportive community! No instruction is provided, but plenty of advice, critique, and feedback is available from the group. Open Pottery. Instructor: Bruce Bartos, $15 each/ $10 student. Join area potters and students of all skill levels in this informal, on-going weekly class. Community Mural Making. Join experienced muralists Greta McLain and Candida Gonzalez alongside interns from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design for a four-day mural-making experience.  Participants will work with the artists to generate ideas for a mural that represents their community.  Youth will learn the steps involved in making a mural from design to creation.  The final painting process will take place during the Downtown Art Fair and community members of all ages will be invited to participate in the mural creation.  This class is free but pre-registration is required. MacRostie Art Center. 405 NW 1st T.

Come “Move it, Move it” with Stages Theatre of Hopkins as Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo and, of course, those plotting penguins enter our stage in the musical adventure of Madagascar. Not content to live in blissful captivity, Marty lets his curiosity take over as he makes his escape to explore the world. His friends and some unusual penguins will not be left behind as they all embark on an unforgettable voyage…

Family Create Second Saturdays. Join us every Second Saturday at the MAC for Family Create Saturdays!  Free family-orientated art activities with a new theme each month! Ages 4 and up.  Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult!  Registration is not required, and dropping in at any time is permitted. This month’s Family Create will be held at the Downtown Art Fair on Historic Central School grounds. 10 NW St.
