Reif Performing Arts Center, 720 NW Conifer Dr, Grand Rapids, MN 55744, USA

For more information: https://www.reifcenter.org/events/list/?tribe_paged=4&tribe_event_display=list

THE LEGEND OF THE ACTUAL WOLF: There are outlaws, and there are outlaws. Some practice the pose and cultivate the image, though seldom dirty their soft, bourgeois hands with anything actually outside the law. When they do, it is often despicable, irresponsible or just plain mundane. The Actual Wolf (aka Eric Pollard), however, is a real outlaw and has pled guilty to it. Between the bust and before the trial AW recorded a pair of EPs, each showing ‘another side of the Wolf’. It is one of the most obvious statements of existence: everything takes time, and the truly good, well crafted things in life take more than the rest. If the world has had to wait a while for another full-length release from Actual Wolf, it is only due to craft and cure.

Macrostie Art Center, 405 NW 1st Ave, Grand Rapids, MN 55744, USA

The art of felt rug making has a long history of bringing people together. Inspired from rug making traditions of Kyrgyzstan we will begin with the basics of wool, soapy water, and agitation and watch as the fibers start to bind together under our bare feet. Over the course of two days we will walk, stomp sing, dance and roll the wool into a strong felt rug that will be given to the Kiesler Wellness Center. All hands and feet welcome! No experience necessary. This project is made possible by a generous grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
