First Friday Art Walk – February 7, 2020

Come to downtown Grand Rapids on the First Friday of the month from 4 – 7 pm for a fun, free community celebration of the arts.

Live jazz with Sam Miltich and Friends from 7 – 10 pm. This month’s featured guest is jazz guitarist Briand Morrison. Free and open to VFW members and the public.

 

  1. BENDERS SHOES

Guest artist Serenity Barden is a realism oil painter who is driven to authentically capture the world around her. She has been creating realistic paintings since 2017, capturing life like landscapes, still life, and portraits.

 

  1. MACROSTIE ART CENTER

Presenting the first new exhibits of 2020: Radioactive by Kelley A. Meister in the MacRostie Gallery and All That Remains by Marlena Myles in the Minnesota Gallery. With food sponsored by Dominos and live music by Briand Morrison from 4 – 5 :30 pm. Artist talks at 6 pm.

  • FIBER ARTIST SHOWCASE – ROOM 109
Fiber artists showcase at Old Central School

John Zasada will demonstrate and sell birch bark woven hearts, Kristen Anderson will have wet felted pieces, Katie Scharpf will have handmade bags, Trish Russ will have needle felted work, Cassidy and Micah Rude will have beeswax wraps, Andrew Kringen wood cutting boards and jewelry, Dawnette Davis will have nuno felted and hand dyed silks.

 

  • NORTHWOODS CANDY COMPANY

Handmade chocolates at the Northwoods Candy Company kiosk on the first floor.

 

  1. UNWINED UP NORTH

Hosting the artists from Crafted by Itasca Life Options from 4 – 8 pm.  They will be displaying a wide assortment of hand-crafted Valentines and wine-themed art.  Stop by to check out the incredible work by artists of all abilities!

 

  1. RAPIDS BREWING COMPANY

Hannah of Flowitout Creations will be showing and taking custom orders for her handmade wire wrapped jewelry and accessories from 5 – 7 pm. With live music by Mike Miller and Lars from 6:30 – 9:30 pm.
