First Friday Art Walk – March 6, 2020

Come to downtown Grand Rapids starting at 4 pm on First Friday for a community celebration of art and creativity. All events are free unless noted and are open to all!

 

  1. REIF GALLERY

Come see the unveiling of the 2020 Student Art Show in the Reif Gallery. The artwork represents the many course offerings at GRHS and RJEMS and the importance of art education. Student work will be on display with a reception and refreshments from 4 – 5 pm.

Live jazz with Sam Miltich and Friends from 7 – 10 pm. This month’s featured guest, jazz trombonist Dave Graf, will join Sam and the band for an evening of big city jazz in a small town venue. Free and open to VFW members and the public.

 

  1. MACROSTIE ART CENTER

Presenting the two exhibits celebrating Youth Art Month: artwork by Keewatin Elementary students in the MacRostie Gallery and paintings by Serenity Barden in the Minnesota Gallery. There will be food sponsored by Jimmy Johns and live music by Michaela Smith from 4 – 6 pm. Artist talks are at 6 pm.

 

  1. OLD CENTRAL SCHOOL ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE

Visit with the Artists in the Attic up on the 3rd floor. Mary Myers Corwin, Leah Yellowbird, and David Dobbs have work on display.

  1. UNWINED UP NORTH

Ashley Goodman will be on site showing her wrapped wire stone jewelry, which will also be featured in an upcoming class.

 

  1. RAPIDS BREWING COMPANY

Live music with Hannah Aldrich from 6 – 9 pm. Hannah grew up in a musical family and she started performing at the age of 13. Her soulful style has a bit of gritty twang, and the authenticity of her performance is what helps her share an emotional connection with the audience.
