First Friday Art Walk – May 4, 2018

  1. FRAME UP Please join us in welcoming Twin Cities artist Cindy Lindgren.  Her prints have a clean, modern look with simple lines and rich color sure to inspire!

    VFW POST 1720 Sam Miltich and Friends present live jazz from 7 – 10 pm with special guest Dave Karr on saxophone. All are welcome!

 

  1. LAKE LOVER VINTAGE Hosting local favorite Tamarick Designs who will be featuring their hand braided leather cord necklaces and Lake Superior stone essential oil bracelets and necklaces. Food samples too!

 

  1. MOXIE Join us as we host artist Andrea Simonson who will be hand painting wine glasses during the event. A variety of glasses will be available for purchase, plus refreshments, giveaways, and 10% off shop purchases.

 

  1. CENTRAL SQUARE MALL Showcasing the paintings of Sharon Vanous in the south wing, Sweet Amelia’s Cup Cakery in Center Court and a display of the exhibit “What’s Left: Lives Touched by Suicide” in the west wing.

    CRAFTED BY ITASCA LIFE OPTIONS CRAFTED is a program of Itasca Life Options that works to empower and provide opportunities to artists of all abilities. Each piece of artwork was made by a person with a developmental or physical disability.  Stop in and see their latest creations!

 

  1. BENDERS Hosting candle maker Tanya Evenson. Stop by and enjoy her natural soy wax candles and melts scented with lavender, hazelnut coffee, coffee bean, bamboo coconut, grapefruit mint, tropical Jamaica, and more!

 

  1. MACROSTIE ART CENTER Presenting paintings by Jonathan Thunder and the annual miniatures exhibition “Little Big Show” with featured artist Jane Latimer. Live music by Marina Whight on harp from 4 – 6 pm, food and wine sponsored by Barb Popkin, and artist talks at 6pm.

 

  1. STAINED GLASS WITH CLASS Welcoming Cindy Stitt with hand crafted glass nightlights and jewerly. All the glass has been fired on-site in the Stained Glass with Class kiln.

    HISTORIC CENTRAL SCHOOL ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE Visit with the artists on the 3rdfloor including Mary Myers Corwin, David Dobbs, and the newest additions: painter Kyle Huff and mixed media artist Jennifer Gorman.

 

  1. GRAND RAPIDS NORTH STAR WOMEN’S CLUB Showing FREE kids movies on the second floor of Central School. Screenings at 4:40 and 5:30. Popcorn and hot chocolate free for kids under 10.

 

  1. BREWED AWAKENINGS Brewed is celebrating May Mental Health Month with artwork from Kiesler Wellness Center.  Music by jazz artist Sam Miltich from 4-5:30, a dinner special until 6:30, and free coffee and cookies.
