The First Friday Art Walk is a community event that takes place from 4 – 7 pm in downtown Grand Rapids (see map below). Events are free unless noted, and all are welcome!
1. OAK HILL ASSISTED LIVING
The Acorn Gallery will host “A Time to Give Thanks,” an exhibit of work by Dick and Donna Payfer. Displayed in this showing will be a collection of the many hobbies and crafts enjoyed by this couple throughout the years including basketry, painting, carving, stained glass, intarsia, sewing, and more.
2. BREWED AWAKENINGS
November’s featured artist is Nevada Jaeger with acrylic paint on denim. Live music from 4:30 – 6 pm by Mosquito Conspiracy with original compositions in their hip hop style, and the Sunny Jim’s performing a mix of original alternative rock tunes. Coffee, cookies, and a dinner special until 6:30.
3. HISTORIC CENTRAL SCHOOL ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE
Visit with some of the Artists in the Attic –Mary Corwin, David Dobbs, and Patti Farrell.
4. BEAUTY & BLISS
Hosting Sweet Amelia’s Cupcakery. Located in Nana Chelle’s Café in Bovey, MN, Sweet Amelia’s makes gourmet cupcakes and offers custom orders and delivery. Stop in for a sweet treat!

Presenting painter Scott West in the MacRostie Gallery and ceramics by Craig Clifford Minnesota Gallery. Music by Maria Annoni on guitar from 4 – 6 pm, refreshments by Toivo’s, and Artist Talks at 6 pm.
7. THE LAKE + CO SHOP
Meet the Brewer: guest brewers from Portage Brewing Company will be providing guided tastings of their craft beer and collecting donations to benefit United Way of 1000 Lakes.
8. STAINED GLASS WITH CLASS
Welcoming artist Amy Thurm with Little Light Soy Candles. Stop by to check them out – they make great gifts!
9. JENNY & COMPANY
Hosting Granite Designs by Kevin: Kevin takes scrap granite and transforms the material into beautiful serving pieces. His granite food boards can be chilled and stay cold for hours. When not serving food, they make a wonderful display, and his products are available in different colors, sizes, and shapes.
10. VFW POST 1720
Sam Miltich and Friends present an evening of New Orleans jazz, and a tribute to Sidney Bechet, featuring Tony Balluff on clarinet from 7 – 10 pm.
11. LAKE LOVER VINTAGE
Showcasing handcrafted custom gift ideas: from family name, lake house and cabin signs, to specialty turned vases from your own tree branches and personalized lake maps to handcrafted jewelry made from your family’s heirloom flatware. Treats will be served.
12. FLOWERS BY JEANNIE
Artist Jenny Farber will be displaying mixed media pieces bringing awareness to sexual violence and representing the journey of a survivor. Free will donations will be accepted for entry into drawings for giveaways. All proceeds will benefit Project 26 and Support Within Reach.
13. FRAME UP
Just in time for the holidays Frame Up is featuring local artist Denise Latimer. She will be showing beautiful birch bark wreaths, whimsical pillows of her hand painted fabrics, and small intimate watercolors of our north woods landscape. And as always, fun treats to eat!
