Hosting Why Treaties Matter, a nationally recognized, award-winning exhibit that explores how treaties affected the lands and lifeways of the Ojibwe & Dakota people of this place, and why these binding agreements between nations still matter today. Circle of Healing members will be on hand to answer questions; refreshments provided!
October’s featured artist is Fran Rowe with watercolor paintings. Live music by Sam Miltich on guitar and Doug Haining on saxophone from 4 – 5:30 pm, with complimentary coffee and cookies, and a dinner special until 6:30.

Hosting the work of artist Janelle Robertson. Janelle is an artist that sketches and draws with music as it inspires her to draw images. Also featuring a book signing with Lisa Karen Carsrud, owner of Beauty and Bliss. “The Beauty of You” and “Change Your Story, Create Your Life” are about inspiring others and personal growth. Book signing during the art walk!

Presenting Reflections on My Journey by Gordon Coons in the MacRostie Gallery and Satellite by Cathy Durso in the Minnesota Gallery. Music by Marina Whight on harp from 4 – 6 pm, refreshments by Forest Lake Restaurant, and Artist Talks at 6 pm.

Presenting Norwegian rosemaler Michelle Carlson and sweater mitten maker Tammy Scherf. Michelle has been rosemaling for over 20-years in the Telemark and Rogaland styles of this beautiful folk art of decoratively painted flowers and scrolls painted on wood items. Tammy loves to take vintage sweaters and turn them into warm wonders of sentiment and delight. Stop in for refreshments and conversation.

Sam Miltich and Friends present an evening of jazz featuring the hard bop music of Cannonball Adderley with special guest Doug Haining on winds from 7 – 10 pm.
- WINGS ‘N WILLOWS ART GALLERY AND CUSTOM FRAMING
Presenting Judy Blackmarr Stejskal, an emerging artist working in watercolor. Her realistic landscapes depict the beauty of the forests, water, and mountains from Minnesota to the Pacific Northwest to the Gulf Coast. She resides on Portage Lake in the Chippewa National Forest.

In-House Artist Becky Markwardt of Dustables will be demonstrating Hand Strung Wool Popcorn and will be available to answer your wool and stitchery questions. Treats will be served.

Mary Corwin will be displaying her pastels of dogs rescued from a Houston, Texas animal shelter. These dogs had been in shelters and brought to Grand Rapids to make room for dogs lost during the hurricane. Some of the dogs Mary has painted are looking for forever homes.
