First Friday Art Walk – March 4, 2022

Come to downtown Grand Rapids from 4 – 7 pm to for a free, family friendly celebration of art and community. Please maintain 6’ distance.  Face coverings are strongly recommended indoors. Thank you for helping keep our community safe!

Chaotic Beauty Artistry at Bender’s

 

  1. BENDER’S SHOES

Benders will be hosting Jenny Farber of Chaotic Beauty Artistry. Jenny is pyrography and watercolor artist based in Grand Rapids. She will have handmade earrings, magnets, and wall decor available.

 

  1. MACROSTIE ART CENTER

Presenting the opening of “Hope and Healing,” in the Minnesota Gallery – an exhibit of paintings by contemporary artist Kent Estey. Reception from 4 – 7 pm with an artist talk at 6 pm.

  1. STAINED GLASS WITH CLASS

First Friday’s display will feature creations by students working in the Stained Glass with Class studio. Find some inspiration and learn more about classes offered.

 

  1. OLD CENTRAL SCHOOL
  • Story Art + Museum: Story Art & Museum is moving to the second floor of Old Central School. Visit Faith Wick’s Fairyland in our new exhibit space or the Gathering Room to play a game or read a story, or the Performance Space to play the piano, sing, or recite a poem.
  • Artists in the Attic: Head up to the 3rd floor to visit the artists in residence and see their projects in progress. Deb Buxengard, Lily Dittmer, and Mary Corwin all have work displayed.

Hosting a First Friday event with featured artist Kristen Anderson, music by Adessa and Keith of Adessa and the Beat, food by Four Seasons Market, and sweets by Miss Sarah’s Northern Treats.

Stop in for First Friday live music with Lonesome Dan Kase  from 7 – 10 pm.
