First Friday Art Walk – April 3, 2026

Come downtown to celebrate the arts and artists during the Art Walk! Events are held 4 – 7 pm with live music continuing later. All events are free unless noted, and all are welcome!  [Above image: Kristen Anderson at MacRostie Art Center ]

Fused Easter Eggs at Stained Glass with Class

1. MACROSTIE ART CENTER

Presenting “Refugia,” an exhibition of felted tapestries about seasonal ponds created by Kristen Anderson with a poem by Susan Hawkinson and Loree Miltich. The reception includes food, wine, and other beverages from 4 –7 pm and an artist talk at 6 pm.

2. GIINAWIND CREATIVE SPACE

Recognizing Youth Art Month with an exhibition of artwork created by 8th grade students at Robert J. Elkington Middle School. A variety of projects will be displayed in Giinawind and at the Reif Gallery.

3. STAINED GLASS WITH CLASS

Welcoming Ally with Wyld Creek, a creative boutique and featuring Grace Meadow. Also offering a pop-in fused Easter egg class for $40 per person.

4. OLD CENTRAL SCHOOL

  • Fire in the VillageRoom 203 Visitors are welcome to stop by to make and take a printed patch or poster, or to just relax and enjoy some time hanging out with creative community.
  • Free Range Food Coop – Room 209 Hosting Michelle Carlson who will be showing her Scandinavian rosemaling work and doing demonstrations.
  • Artists in the Attic The Artists in Residence invite you to enjoy the colorful flora and fauna presented by guest artists Jenny and Wayne Winkleman as they share their collaborative paintings and photography of birds and wildlife from their international travels. Free make-n-take art for all ages — decorating Easter eggs.

5. RAPIDS BREWING

Presenting live jazz from 6 – 9 pm, sponsored by Grand Rapids State Bank. Sam and Matthew Miltich will be joined by special guests Charmin Michelle on vocals, Dave Graf on trombone, and Trevor Haining on drums.
