1. NELIA HARPER FRENCH & DOUG LIEN STUDIO
Visit the artist studio on the lower level of the Eye Care Clinic to hear about upcoming plein air painting events and see Nelia and Doug’s works in progress.
2. BENDERS
Welcoming Kortani Samsa with Lakeside Apothecary. Based in Side Lake, MN, Kortain handcrafts small batch skincare using organic, cold pressed oils, slow infusions of organic botanicals, and tallow rendered from the suet of grass fed and finished cows.
3. MACROSTIE ART CENTER
Celebrating the community of potters who work in the MAC’s ceramics studio with an exhibition including works by over 20 artists and a special feature by resident potter Bruce Bartos. The reception is sponsored by Members Cooperative Credit Union and includes food and wine from 4 – 7 pm and an artist talk at 6 pm.
4. GIINAWIND CREATIVE SPACE
Welcoming Sam Zimmerman / Zhaawanoogiizhik from 4 – 5 pm for the launch of his new book “Walking My Ancestors’ Path” published by Minnesota Historical Society Press. The book is a collection of paintings and stories told in both English and Ojibwemowin that honor the animal spirits and seasons of northern Minnesota.
5. OLD CENTRAL SCHOOL
- Fire in the Village Join Fire in the Village in Room 203 for a First Friday Print Potluck! They’ll have some fun new print blocks, ink, and fabric scraps. Bring something from home to print on, or some food to share, if you like!
- Artists in Residence Head up to the 3rd floor to visit with current artists in residence inclucing Nevada Smith, Krista Matison, Vicki Menozzi, and Jenny Winkelman. Stop by to see their studio spaces and works in progress.
